The time that could have been used in executing policies is wasted in planning the wagering, choosing the one to hold the money pool in the trust of others, checking for sports updates, and cheering the teams. Since gambling is one of the pastimes, it may become too entrenched, leading to lower productivity as the new employees get the culture from older ones. The workers have more time away from their duties and organizational resources to conduct their wagering and can still do it without contradicting the workplace ethics.
