Due to the advancement of information and communication technology, virtual leadership is becoming more relevant. In this regard, it is also worth noting that the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 has even caused its rise due to the lockdown all over the world. Virtual leadership means shifting from a contemporary office environment to a work-from-home environment. In this regard, according to (KUMAR, 2020), working from home brings more effectiveness to a professional. Virtual leadership has no distinction from the traditional leadership models. Most of the leadership styles are well fit for a virtual team. However, authoritarian and Laissez-Faire leaders are not suitable for virtual leadership as they take more of a direct approach to the employees, and they like to control everything themselves. Herein, an effective virtual leadership model should include the following leadership qualities:

Providing clarified goals, directing them as per the requirements, and continuing the cycle.
The team times should be defined by the leader to all of the members and explain their roles to them.
Due to the lack of physical interaction, the leader should be the one to be responsible for building trust and collaboration amongst the team and the stakeholders.
The leader should also ensure engagement of the employees by their continuous development as per their skill set, and a healthy relationship should be built.
Virtual teams are required with a higher degree of leadership skills in order to excel.
